abby sher is a writer, performer, lover of fine toothed combs and she often gets nosebleeds. She grew up in a white house with a red door and an orange tulip that kept blooming even though nobody remembers planting it. She has written for numerous publications, a few anthologies, and some really meandering plays. In 2007 her first young adult novel,
kissing snowflakes
was published by Scholastic to great reviews. Plus, a lot of snowflakes started kissing. In the fall of 2009, Scribner published Abby’s memoir,
amen, amen, amen: memoir of a girl who couldn’t stop praying (among other things)
. Please go out and pick up a copy and tell her you liked something about it. Even if it’s just the pictures. She will gladly read something of yours too and say kind, honest things about it. Abby is also the
voice
for lots of things like frozen pizza and colon cleansers. She toured, wrote and performed on all the stages at the Second City and ImprovOlympic in Chicago and now she performs in New York at various theaters. Check back often to see when and where she will be performing and/or teaching yoga and writing. Or just to read something and say hello. Abby tries to answer emails as quickly as possible, but it does take a while. She has a delicious family with a baby girl who loves cookie monster and sometimes instead of Mama-does-email-now time there is a Ticklepalooza. You understand, I hope. |
